Tartuffe
The play opens in the bustling French household of Orgon, his new wife Elmire, and children Mariane and Damis. Orgon is a wealthy man who has fallen under the spell of Tartuffe, a pious man of the Lord, he came across at prayers at the local church. He showers Tartuffe with money, food, lodging, and even a promise of his daughter’s hand in marriage. The rest of the household isn’t so sure of this man that Orgon has given everything to but, can they convince him of his bad intentions before it is too late? A play as relevant in 2025 as it was in 1664 showing how a grifter could use the Bible for his own nefarious ways.
